You will recall that just after Xmas we wrote to update you on some decisions that the cttee had taken on fees and playing and to let you know what our intelligence was regarding returning to play.

We hoped to be back mid February but alas not the case - however in the light of yesterday's announcement it looks like we might have the opportunity from the 29th March (keeping everything crossed). England Hockey have been chasing and (as mentioned by Doug on Facebook) hope to be making an announcement in the next 72 hours. Hopefully will we receive a revised return to play plan within the next couple of days.

We think it is unlikely that we will play anywhere near a full league - even if we get to return to play before the end of the extended season. However, from the government road map, we may be able to return to training (and possibly play) 29th March at the earliest. Our pitch may not be available on that date, depending on the reopening of the SLL. So we may, as before, seek to train elsewhere.

On a positive note, during this period of lockdown we have not incurred pitch hire for training or coaching costs, so we have at least clawed back some of the deficit we were facing putting us in a much stronger position that before. Thank you to everyone who has paid membership (upfront or continue to pay by Direct Debit). we appreciate everyone's continued support.

Assuming that there will be a much shorter season as a best-case scenario, we'd like to start thinking about the appetite for returning to hockey and any summer play we may be able to arrange (the pitch is due to be resurfaced and upgraded this year so we may need to travel to Bedford or other local pitches).
