At England Hockey, we are continuing to support our clubs during this challenging time by providing as much up to date information on available support as possible. The COVID-19 pandemic has created challenges that have never been faced by the sport previously.

Our support comes in two main areas:

Let’s Stick Together is a resource for you to refer to during this time of uncertainty.  Please share this page with your community, committee, volunteers and players. Together we are stronger, and we hope you find everything you might need here.

Coming Back Stronger - We continue to follow the advice of the government and Public Health England and, whilst hockey isn’t being played, we are working on the programmes for when Hockey’s Back. You can find our advice following the government’s latest guidance here. In the meantime we are here to support you as club leaders, coaches and key volunteers with a one stop guide to help you and your club volunteers prepare so that when we return you can come back even stronger. This section has been divided up into the key ingredients of what make a great club.

We will be continually adding to these resources until the sport can return in full but if there is any specific support you are looking for and can’t find please let me know or contact clubs@englandhockey.co.uk

Some specific areas of interest right now might be:

Sport England Community Emergency Fund – Will be paused from Thursday 14th May.
To find support for how to manage your AGM under lock down visit the Leadership page
Is your club continuing to engage with your membership? You can find safeguarding guidance for video conferencing and live streaming
Are you looking to use the time to support the development of your umpires and coaches? If so visit the Inspiring People page for details of online coaching, safeguarding and umpiring workshops and courses.

As well as the above, we have a survey for those involved in the Player Pathway to complete, please see below from our colleagues in that department.

Over the coming years our aspiration is to work more closely with the hockey community and to create a shared vision for a talent identification and development system which attracts and excites young people irrespective of their background and inspires them to be the best they can be.

We would like to capture the personal opinion of players, parents, coaches, administrators and all on how to develop a talent system that sets a new standard of performance leading to sustained international podium success while providing positive player experiences and encouraging long term involvement in hockey.

We are looking for you to help us develop our future strategy and understand how we can achieve this ambition. We have created a Talent System survey which will ask questions about your vision for the future and the current provision. It will take about 15 minutes to complete although it may take longer if you wish to answer the free format questions in detail.

The Talent Survey is live now and will be open until Thursday May 28th.
