U8's tournament

The U8s had their turn today in our tournament. We were amazing and won all our group games, not conceding a goal in 4 matches. We ended up facing our nemesis team Leighton Buzzard in the final. We went down 2-0 but they kept their fighting spirit and carried on working the ball around beautifully, as they had done all day. We came back to 2-1 but unfortunately there was not enough time to score another one. There were some fabulous defending with several balls being saved off the line.
We couldn’t have asked for more today from any of the kids - even though we lost the final we definitely played the better hockey that will stand them in great stead as they progress up the club.
I know the kids were initially disappointed at the result but they shouldn’t have been - we ended up with a silver medal and they were all brilliant- the other coaches and I were so proud of them.
