The U8s were in action again today at the Luton tournament. I only have one word that sums them up: AWESOME! They continued their excellent form from last weeks friendlies winning all their group games convincingly working the ball around beautifully and scoring some lovely goals.
Alex was as always a rock at the back, at one point having 5 players descending on him and still coming away with the ball. Simon, Phoebe and Molly worked tirelessly in midfield getting stuck in and all scoring goals and Archie defended hard from the front putting lots of balls in the net.
We progressed into the semi finals beating a tricky Stevenage side 2-0 to then unfortunately lose 1-0 to Leighton Buzzard in the final.
I know that the team was very disappointed to lose out on the gold but they should be so proud of themselves as Jade and I are of them. One of the other coaches said how lovely it was to see how well they all get on both on and off the pitch and I completely agree.
Thank you to the parents as always for turning out in what was truly horrendous weather this morning which saw some of the children from another team leave and go home as it was too cold!!
