The u12s headed west once again this morning, to the last tournament of the season at Leighton Buzzard. The weather was rather soggy, but a 6-0 win in the first game helped to keep spirits high. We went straight into the second game, and lost 3-1 but regrouped to win the next two games 3-0 and 2-1. We went into our last game needing to win, but Aylesbury proved just that bit too tough. Aylesbury went on to win overall, and SSHC came third.
Overall we scored 14 goals in 5 games and only conceded 8 - really impressive given the kids played two hours of hockey over the course of the tournament. Tom D was top goalscorer with 5; Grace hot on his heels with 4, Tom J with two and Robert, Esme and Phoebe with one. The defence of course helped to keep the goals out the other end, and Miles, Olly M, Olly A and Sam worked well to clear the ball.
MoM was shared between Tom J and Grace. There was some fantastic hockey, the team has got better and better over the season, and it's been a pleasure to see them develop.
Thank you once again to the parents for all their support, without you we wouldn't have been able to enter these tournaments or friendlies! And thanks to Jade Gravell and Doug for all the co-coaching.
