Not even the return of Trev from retirement

A trip to Letchworth for the late hockey game,
After last week’s first loss and that was a shame.
We started so well but just couldn’t score,
Letchworth they broke quick and got one on the board.
As time went on they grabbed number two,
They continued to press, they wanted a few!

As half time arrived we gathered our breath,
We still had hope, we still had the Trev.
Sadly though it was just not to be,
Letchworth started again and scored number three.
Four, five and six followed soon after,
Then day went from bad to just a disaster.

We did claw one back with young Ali Wood,
He stumbled, he fell but he did good.
Its finished 6-1, that was hard to take,
Although I made a few cock ups and the odd mistake.
Despite the result it wasn’t all bad,
With Tom, Ben and Lewis we have some top lads.

Also a shout out to Ed, Darran and Paul,
Quality team mates who chase every ball.
With Sam and Danny patrolling the back,
And Jack P in goal to cover the cracks.
We’ll go again, win, lose or draw,
We’ve scored a few goals but could do with some more.

A good post match tea and potatoes all round,
Broccoli and chips nowhere to be found.
Hopefully next week we can return with a boom,
And back up the table we can jump with a zoom.
