A team bundled together with hours to go

The men’s 4s bundled a team together after being left with 7 players at 10am on Friday morning. However a full eleven players turned up and spectating Josh Stone had his arm twisted to have a go as our makeshift goal keeper.

Hertford pressed early and were rewarded with a fine strike to put them 1-0 up. Shefford hit back with Paul Barden hitting the back board following a well worked short corner. The first half ending all square with Shefford just having the advantage.

The half started well with Shefford moving the ball around well. Some great link up play from Ben Stone and Lewis Barden combine well for Lewis to score his first goal for S&S. However some careless passing saw a Hertford break and despite Josh Stone getting glove on the shot , the ball looped in to square things up.

Shefford still have the majority of the possession were rewarded as Paul Barden grabbed his second of the game , beating 3 players and drilling home from the top of the D.

The 4s then held on despite 10 minutes of madness as we won at least 8 free hits and promptly fluffed them all!

However a 3-2 win with a team literally stuck together in the previous few hours.Huge thanks to Josh Stone for his GKing heroics and Jake and Rob for doubling up for us. Also the returning Dan Daniel Robins on his way back from injury.
