for the men's 4ths whilst being considerably short of players
With mass shortage hitting the men’s section the 4s almost resorting to trying to mass produce extra players, sadly the experiments came to nothing but the 4s did manage to pull together an 11 for the late game at Sandy.
The 4s took the lead with a well struck goal after a smart move from a short corner by Danny Wilson Hall. This was followed up by 2 goals for Darran France ?? before half time to put the team in a comfortable position at half time.
A slightly slow start to the second half was finally broken with France powering into the D to score again to claim a tidy hat trick! The young guns of Toby Morlidge , Lewis Barden and Tom Joannou all linked up well to keep the ball alive and both Sam Giddings and Jacques Wildon pushed on to support the flanks. Ben Stone also working hard throughout and stepping up to confidently push out at short corners.
Dan Coverdale made it 5 with a close range finish followed by a tumble , roll and somersault that any aspiring gymnast would be proud of. The scoring was completed by Ed Murray-Clark who tucked in his first S&S goal to make it a solid half dozen!
A solid win to end a tough day at the office for the men’s sides. Thanks to Tony for doubling up in goal for us, Mr Joannou and Mr Riley for also putting themselves forward to help out if we were short. A big shout out also to Paul Barden, Alistair Wood, Jack Prothero and Zach Christodoulou for stepping up to play for the 3s at short notice.
Final score S&S 6 , Berko 0
