After a tough few weekends the 4th XI made the journey to Rickmansworth, Ricky’s new home being a rather swanky girls school complete with dovecote, clock tower and a fencing club in full swing.
With no recognised keeper the 4s opted to play a kicking back with Coverdale and Jack Prothero filling the void. An early Sandy goal from Darran France after a blistering run by the ever improving Paul Barden was quickly wiped out by a well taken Ricky goal. A solid first half ending 1-1.
The second half started with Sandy grabbing two in two! Kev Wilson’s quickly taken free hit was dispatched into the goal by Cliff Gulbis only to be followed by the next attack and for young Marcus Pennington to bag his second goal of the season.
Assorted other highlights saw Toby Morlidge but in a good shift on the right wing (we won’t mention the push) and a Sam Giddings again having a strong game in midfield.
Final score Rickmansworth 1 - S&S 3
