Coverdale and Giddings throwing their bodies on the line

The Men’s 4s hosted as yet unbeaten Southgate Adelaide at Sandy. Due to an accident on the A1 the 4pm start was withheld until 4.45 when the opposition could actually make it into Sandy.
A blistering start from the visitors saw them gain an early lead and promptly finished the first half 4-0 up . Guest keeper Ashdown more than earning his keep with several useful blocks. Coverdale and Giddings also both throwing their bodies on the line in what at times looked similar to the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan!
The second half started well with Shefford playing with a greater intensity and pushed a couple shots just wide of the Southgate goal. Sadly however the opposition just having the greater desire and winning the majority of 50/50 balls saw them grab a further 3 goals despite some solid defending with Sam Giddings literally running his legs off!
Final score a disappointing 7-0 defeat, however the 4s have played 3 of the top four in the past 3 weeks so hopefully a few more easier fixtures are just around the corner ?
