with a dominating performance

Ladies 3's 3 vs Chiltern 1

On what started as a frosty morning with games being cancelled left right and centre out turned the ladies 3's on a wet, bloody cold and just miserable day.
With many of the regulars out this week through injury, illness and just galavanting else where, up stepped some debutens
With only 5 OVER 19's in the squad of 14 it was a chance for our s&s youth to show just what they are made of and all I can say is the future of S&S is looking bright.

S&S started well, if a little tentative just trying to find there feet. With an unrecognisable backrow of Mead in goal, Lands, Heidi C-A, C Bradshaw, Hare, O Brien (making her debut) and commanding her defence she lead from the back giving confidence going forward. With the ever menacing midfield of Lancaster, Currell, F Bradshaw and Howman linking well with the forward line placing balls on feet and running rings round chiltern a short corner was won - the first goal which has become a Howman tradition resulted In a drag flick past the keeper taking S&S in to a 1-0 lead.

Shortly after a second short was won, with Howman proving that it wasn't a fluke she netted a second.

The game opened up slightly and some end to end play saw our defence challenged but proving they are made of strong stuff defending well and mead making some marvellous saves before Chiltern earned one from open play to make it 1-2.

We knew another goal was needed to take the pressure off and within 5 minutes the forward line of Gravell, C Bradshaw, Collis and Cook piling on the pressure and a shot at goal being stopped by a Chiltern player on the line with her body resulted in a flick, up swaggered Howman to take the hatrick as she nestled it past the keepers right side.

S&S continued to play well and saw out the 70 mins with a convincing win.
