Top of the table clash

Ladies 3s had a daunting visit to unbeaten league leaders Hertford Academy.
During the first five minutes S&S were a little hesitant to press hard, thinking that Hertford would be all over them. Reassured, S&S started passing the ball, keeping possession and frustrating the opposition. A superb save from the S&S keeper kept the score at a very respectable 0-0 at half time. Focussed and determined S&S were awarded a short corner early on in the second half. Realising from the previous short corner that Hannah Fell was not being marked, the ball was passed to her from the stop at the top of the D, which Hannah blasted past the keeper! S&S continued to move the ball around the whole team creating more chances on goal. They were unlucky to concede a goal from a Hertford short corner. Undeterred, S&S regrouped and began piling more and more pressure on Hertford. Their persistence paid off with another glorious goal from Hannah Fell. Corin Lancaster was unlucky not to score the team’s third goal in the dying minutes of the game. With the final whistle being blown, S&S were chuffed with the solid team performance resulting in a resounding victory.
