Close encounter

On a cold winters morning, the ladies were eager to get back to winning ways following a loss the following week with a few changes to the the team following a spate of injuries. The ladies followed their usual pre-match warm up, gossip, natter and natter some more! Never a team to be deterred from this despite trying...!

With the shrieking of the whistle to get the game underway, the game started very even and this was much of the theme throughout with much being played in the center of the pitch with the occasional break from either teams.

Half way through the first half one of the breaks resulted in us taking the lead. With a fine run by Zoe in to the D leaving defending players in her mist, she passed to Wendy SR who got hold of the lifted pass hitting the ball in to the back of the net hitting the Back board with a thundering noise.

With Injured Homan making a guest appearance on her scooter to support and giving a half time talk it inspired S&S to dig deep battle hard to win those 50/50 balls and see out the win in a very even and well matched game. With the defense having to be the first to every ball, mark tight and communicate well. As Saffron Warden put us under pressure for the last 10/15 minutes of the games
Well fought and well deserved 3 points in the bag.
