And patience is what the S&S Ladies 3s have had Gary, but they were chomping at the bit to continue their recent impressive play and faced 7th place Broxbourne 3s. Hot out of the blocks, S&S set up camp in the Broxbourne D. Hannah Woodhouse opened the scoring in the second part of the first half, 1-0. Kath Wilson bamboozled Broxbourne with her speed and agility down the right wing, crossing the ball to Denise Alexander who slammed the ball into the back board, 2-0. S&S continued to harass the opposition in the second half. Broxbourne had no chance as S&S ran them ragged with their triangular passing. Jacqui Pritchard (fresh from her trip to Morrison’s in her PJs - thankfully now dressed appropriately) pushed the ball to Tina Fury on the half way line. Fury to Wilson, to Alexander, back to Wilson. Wilson’s cross met by Alexander who volleyed it into the back of the net 3-0. Broxbourne were discombobulated at this point and their heads were truly down and players were warned and carded. Elsby, Jones and Hall were rarely troubled. Harris, Shepherd were able to push up and supply Luetchford and Rayner down the left wing. Luetchford was getting frustrated, not being able to get her shots on target. Her persistence paid off and she scored a glorious goal in the last five minutes of the match (her first for the club), 4-0!! A stupendous triumph for the 3s!
