2's play their match in conditions akin to Pyeongchang
before taking a point in away draw
&S Ladies 2s 1 V Chiltern 1s. 1
For the third week running Shefford played their match in conditions akin to Pyeongchang. Early decisions definitely went in favour of the home team, with Shefford winning nothing anywhere on the pitch. Despite being up against it Shefford still had the best of the chances, with Nunn and Green both going close. Harling and Fury worked hard in the centre, while Nunn Junior, Fogg and Alford marshalled the defence. The ever improving Burke had the left wing in her pocket and made some surging runs up the right flank. Whilst Taylor, Green and Wilson all caused havoc up front. The deadlock was finally broken when Chiltern were awarded a dubious short corner which against the odds they converted , despite Fuller’s initial reflex save. It seemed like an eternity but Shefford finally found an equaliser when Nunn Junior’s pass put Green clean through and one on one with the Chiltern keeper, she calmly lifted the ball into the top left hand corner.
Shefford proved they were an adaptable team and played to the conditions, umpiring and come out with some well deserved points.
Girlie of the game went to Tayla Green for a goal of the season contender.
