Not a bad start to the season I suppose. With Blueharts coming down from Prem A and our boys going into Prem B this was never going to be an easy start especially away from home.
Blueharts started well, moving the ball at a reasonable pace and winning the odd corner. Their early pressure paid off from a right post deflection off another corner.
S&S started to find their feet and after Chris Fell’s 60m aerial, Liam Stevens plucked it out of the air rounded the keeper and smashed a backhand into the net! A very early contender for goal of the season.
Felly scored from a corner just before the break to put the visitors 2-1 ahead.
S&S grew more into the game, stringing a sustained amount of passes together and after Stevens was hit high with the ball (accidentally) in the circle. Felly had two goes from first a flick then a hit before Alyn Meredith finished it off with a backhand finish.
3-1 with ten to go and if S&S could have been just that little bit more clinical the men in green and black had 2 good chances to score the 4th and kill the game.
As it was Blueharts smashed a hopeful ball into the circle and the slightest of deflections saw it go in. 3-2.
That’s how it stayed until the final whistle. A great 3 points.
